The BUILD Initiative developed this policy brief for state, community, and Tribal leaders to provide them with information on policy levers that they can leverage to support early educator compensation. Federal investments in child care and an increased awareness of the importance of child care provide an opportunity to raise and address issues of under-compensation with decision makers. Readers will walk away with strategies that are currently underway in different states, showing decision makers a potential path forward in their efforts to improve compensation for the early care and education workforce.
