Apprenticeships: Building a Strong Child Care Workforce Pipeline

This report, developed by the Bipartisan Policy Center, discusses registered apprenticeship programs (RAPs) as an innovative model for increasing the supply of child care. It provides information about how to start a RAP; includes examples of diverse strategies that states are using to plan, coordinate, fund, build, and expand apprenticeship opportunities; and includes examples of regional collaborations driving the development of apprenticeship programs. This report concludes with actionable, targeted recommendations for Congress, federal departments, states, counties and municipalities, businesses and philanthropic organizations, and community colleges to support the development and expansion of early care and education career pathways and RAPs.
